Responsibilities
- Demonstrate foundational packaging development capabilities, including building and testing unit loads
- Determine primary package sizing and execute package performance testing
- Lead plant trials and select appropriate test methods while interpreting results
- Represent the packaging function in cross-functional team discussions
- Learn and apply the Formula Management System for packaging specifications
- Understand interaction between packaging, product, and manufacturing processes
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers for material, design, and equipment improvements
- Troubleshoot issues during line trials and package testing
- Analyze and interpret data for decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Science/Engineering
- 2 or more years of work experience in packaging engineering
- Proficiency in MS office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Preferred: MS Project (project management software) or similar
- Knowledge of Statistics, Lean six Sigma and/or data analysis
- Proficient in unit load software - Cape Pack, Tops
- Materials knowledge in flexible films, rigid plastics, corrugated, and decorating technologies
