About the role

  • Vice President & GM of Specialty overseeing pharmacy programs at Gifthealth. Driving strategic, operational, and financial performance with full P&L accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight: Serve as the enterprise executive leader for all specialty pharmacy operations and partnerships.
  • Own full P&L accountability for all specialty lines of business, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and margin optimization.
  • Define and execute strategic plans that drive operational performance, compliance, and patient outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, OKRs, and SLAs to track progress, evaluate efficiency, and align with company-wide objectives.
  • Ensure every specialty program operates under clear governance, transparency, and measurable impact.
  • Lead the enterprise specialty roadmap, including hub integration, PBM relationships, and new manufacturer launches.
  • Contractual & Partner Management: Oversee all contracts, SOWs, amendments, and MSAs related to specialty partnerships, ensuring clear terms, deliverables, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance to ensure all agreements align with regulatory and financial standards.
  • Act as the executive point of contact for manufacturer, hub, and PBM partners, ensuring high-quality engagement, renewals, and escalations.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with strategic partners to track performance, address issues, and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Negotiate complex agreements, ensuring alignment on scope, pricing, KPIs, and service standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational success across specialty programs, ensuring fulfillment, intake, and patient services meet or exceed SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy, Engineering, and Client Success teams to ensure seamless workflow execution and data transparency.
  • Leverage automation and system integration to improve turnaround times, accuracy, and patient experience.
  • Develop and standardize specialty-specific processes and playbooks across programs for consistent execution.
  • Ensure all workflows adhere to compliance, DSCSA, and manufacturer data reporting requirements.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage and report on the P&L for all specialty programs, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost optimization.
  • Partner with Finance and Data Analytics to provide real-time visibility into revenue, expense, and margin drivers.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to ensure financial goals are met or exceeded.
  • Provide executive-level financial insights to leadership and board stakeholders.
  • Hub and PBM Expertise: Leverage extensive hub and PBM knowledge to improve patient access, reimbursement support, and program adherence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hub service providers and PBMs to ensure alignment on performance, data exchange, and escalation management.
  • Oversee all hub integrations, ensuring technology and workflow compatibility with internal systems.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on payer processes, benefit verification, and reimbursement optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Product teams to implement technology solutions that improve specialty operations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Legal to ensure regulatory readiness and proper documentation of all activities.
  • Align with Operations and Pharmacy leadership to ensure end-to-end delivery performance across programs.
  • Work with the PMO to track and execute specialty program initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing specialty leadership team, including program managers and account directors.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
  • Mentor emerging leaders and promote development pathways for high-potential employees.
  • Drive enterprise alignment through regular communication, reporting, and performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required.
  • MBA, PharmD, or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive leadership in specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical services, or PBM/hub operations.
  • Proven success managing enterprise programs, partnerships, and financial performance.
  • Experience negotiating and executing SOWs, MSAs, and large-scale strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in KPI, OKR, and SLA management at the enterprise level.
  • Strong understanding of specialty reimbursement models, patient services, and payer operations.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy compliance, DSCSA, and manufacturer reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with executive and partner stakeholders.
