About the role

  • Visual Communications Specialist managing visual merchandising communications and presentation standards for the Journeys Group. Collaborating with teams to enhance in-store brand storytelling and customer experience in retail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, support, and execute visual merchandising communication and presentation standards across assigned Journeys Group concepts
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to maintain visual consistency, enhance in-store brand storytelling, visual experience
  • Assist with seasonal strategies that strengthen brand identity and improve overall customer experience
  • Support the planning and execution of visual merchandising communication initiatives by coordinating development, production, photography, and document design
  • Strategize and collaborate cross-functionally to develop concept-specific visual communication
  • Provide store support for locations that reach out via email and portal feedback
  • Support the VM team by participating in collaborative decision-making
  • Coordinate and collaborate on the development of visual standards, training content, hardware guidelines
  • Assist with the organization and execution of in-studio photo shoots
  • Work closely with Buying and Merchandising partners to translate seasonal priorities and product placement guidance
  • Support the ongoing creation and maintenance of computer aided design (CAD) materials
  • Coordinate deployment and maintain content on store platforms for seasonal and promotional visual communication materials
  • Collaborate and support the planning and execution of sign kit elements
  • Support new or test visual communication projects, strategy instructions, or fixture enhancements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Design or Art preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, InDesign and Mac operating system
  • Journeys retail store management experience (minimum 2+ years store management experience) or other varied retail experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in digital photography and editing
  • A passion for visual merchandising, design, and retail presentation trends
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 30-50 pounds for display shifting and moving VM items
  • Some travel required
