About the role

Commodity Sourcing Leader managing electrical commodities for GE Gas Power. Negotiate supplier contracts and manage purchase orders for optimal commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies
Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction
Manage assigned electrical commodities for the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units business segment
Support the development of supplier panels that can meet or exceed GEV’s expectations
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the optimal contractual conditions while meeting project expectations
Manage all commercial aspects of purchase orders with suppliers for assigned commodities
Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels
Determine suppliers to solicit quotes from for specific project demands
Lead negotiations and allocate demands to specific suppliers
Ensure selected supplier is capable of meeting all GEV requirements; gain internal buy-in for any exceptions
Coordinate supplier awards and purchase order placement with the Procurement team
Manage purchase order changes as necessary
Manage commercial claims with suppliers regarding delivery and quality issues
Develop content expertise for assigned commodities
Identify and support process improvement activities
Communicate and resolve complex issues, building consensus and commitment from key stakeholders
Utilize persuasion skills to influence others
Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor/Master's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma with relevant experience
Significant experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management
Strong project management and process improvement skills
Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Strong oral and written communication skills to present complex technical and commercial topics with clear, concise and effective messaging to stakeholders and senior leadership teams
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to challenge the status quo and collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
Strong problem solving skills with objective, factual and data driven approach
Driving ideation to action plan, breaking down strategic ideas into tactical action plan and driving closure with sense of urgency
