Responsibilities
Lead the Technology department, comprising operational and building services as well as the in-house workshop
Ensure regular operation and proper functioning of building and operational technology
Identify maintenance and repair needs, prepare performance specifications and obtain quotes in compliance with procurement rules
Plan deployment of tradespeople, coordinate and prioritize work, and perform final inspections
Monitor adherence to maintenance cycles and required inspections; tender maintenance contracts
Apply for, implement and oversee projects including schedule and budget control
Collaborate with institute and administrative management, all departments, authorities, architects and specialist planners, as well as the construction division at Fraunhofer headquarters
Compile energy consumption data, document energy-saving measures and plan additional savings opportunities for regular energy audits
Document all work on technical systems and project data according to the prescribed documentation system
Requirements
A completed degree in Building Services Engineering, Facility Management, or Process Engineering; ideally you also have experience leading personnel
Experience in the maintenance and servicing of operational and building-technical systems
Strong specialist knowledge in at least one of the following areas: gas supply, HVAC and refrigeration technology, or building automation
Basic knowledge of preventive fire protection
Good working knowledge of relevant technical standards and regulations (e.g. VDE standards, TRBS, BetrSichV…)
Understanding of technical processes and fault diagnosis
Independent and service-oriented working style, flexibility, strong communication and teamwork skills – also in demanding periods
A constructive, goal-oriented approach to work
Initial experience leading small teams, strong persuasive skills, confident appearance and good negotiation skills
Excellent German language skills, spoken and written (C2 level)
Basic knowledge of English
Suitability for work in cleanrooms
Willingness to occasionally perform necessary work on weekends
