About the role
- Legal Counsel providing guidance on corporate and commercial matters in the MENA region. Advising on legal compliance, risk management, and data protection laws.
Responsibilities
- Advise on a variety of legal topics and manage complex matters with multiple stakeholders.
- Lead the legal aspects of corporate structuring, including the incorporation of new entities and joint ventures in key markets.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements.
- Provide legal oversight on distributor relations, including renewals, non-renewals, and terminations.
- Manage legal workstreams for strategic projects and office relocations.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with evolving privacy and data protection laws.
- Advise on data transfer requirements and assist in amending regional agreements.
- Provide legal guidance in the event of a data breach.
Requirements
- Law degree (J.D., LL.B., or equivalent) from an accredited institution and an active license to practice law.
- A minimum of [e.g., 2-4] years of relevant legal experience, either at a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel for a multinational corporation.
- Proven experience in corporate and commercial law within the MENA region, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in the GCC.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law, data privacy regulations, and commercial procedures.
- Outstanding negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, provide sound judgment, and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
