About the role

  • Commercial Counsel supporting and negotiating legal agreements for a fintech software company. Driving deal velocity and collaborating with various internal teams on commercial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Support and negotiate revenue-generating agreements that enable the Company’s sales, partnerships and go to market teams.
  • Negotiate and advise on inbound vendor and procurement agreements.
  • Manage a high volume of commercial transactions and drive deal velocity.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic guidance on legal issues arising in commercial transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, deal desk, partnerships, privacy, procurement, security, product, and engineering.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Company’s commercial legal resources, including playbooks, templates, policies, and workflows.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience practicing commercial law, either in-house
  • at a technology company or within the corporate or technology transactions department of a
  • reputable law firm.
  • Strong contract drafting skills with attention to precision and clarity.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating technology and commercial agreements with sophisticated counterparties.
  • Entrepreneurial, builder-oriented mindset with a willingness to take ownership and contribute to the continuous development and improvement of internal processes and resources.
  • Exceptional judgment, attention to detail, and integrity, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible, adaptive, and always open to learning something new.
  • Sense of humor and ability to maintain perspective in a fast-paced environment.
