About the role

  • Legal Advisor supporting US Air Force operations in Germany by providing legal advice on various laws. Involves complex legal inquiries and advising leadership at various levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support the United States Air Force in Germany in the legally compliant execution of its mission
  • Advise leadership on matters of German, European and international law
  • Handle complex legal issues
  • Prepare well-founded legal opinions
  • Conduct thorough research and draft detailed legal memoranda
  • Advise and support commanders and decision-makers on legal matters
  • Develop legal strategies and recommendations
  • Lead the Foreign Criminal Jurisdiction program
  • Provide personal legal assistance to members of the U.S. armed forces
  • Perform demanding translations of complex legal documents

Requirements

  • Completed Second State Examination in Law (Zweites Juristisches Staatsexamen) or an equivalent LL.M. degree
  • In-depth knowledge or practical experience in constitutional law, administrative law, state liability law (Amtshaftung) and labour/employment law
  • At least one year of relevant legal professional experience
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
  • Strong diplomatic skills, professionalism and a confident demeanor
  • High willingness to travel
  • Valid Class B driver's license
