Responsibilities
- Support the United States Air Force in Germany in the legally compliant execution of its mission
- Advise leadership on matters of German, European and international law
- Handle complex legal issues
- Prepare well-founded legal opinions
- Conduct thorough research and draft detailed legal memoranda
- Advise and support commanders and decision-makers on legal matters
- Develop legal strategies and recommendations
- Lead the Foreign Criminal Jurisdiction program
- Provide personal legal assistance to members of the U.S. armed forces
- Perform demanding translations of complex legal documents
Requirements
- Completed Second State Examination in Law (Zweites Juristisches Staatsexamen) or an equivalent LL.M. degree
- In-depth knowledge or practical experience in constitutional law, administrative law, state liability law (Amtshaftung) and labour/employment law
- At least one year of relevant legal professional experience
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
- Strong diplomatic skills, professionalism and a confident demeanor
- High willingness to travel
- Valid Class B driver's license
