CFD Modeling Engineer supporting Ford’s Research and Advanced Engineering team with modeling and analysis for electric drive systems. Delivering performance and efficiency improvements in vehicle technologies.
Responsibilities
Complete 1D system models using AMESim and other similar analysis tools.
Complete CFD analysis using Starccm, Simerics and other similar tools.
Identify design inefficiencies and propose design improvements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers in Research and Product Development, by working with other teams and coordinating with common modeling practices.
Support design reviews between various organizations within Ford Motor Company.
Deliver transferable work products to the Product Development Team that is applicable for a production program.
Requirements
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
6+ years of experience in Modeling, CAE analysis.
2+ years of experience directly related to CFD modeling.
Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate analysis, with the experience to select modeling parameters.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to turn analysis data into clear decisions and recommendations.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team
Hands-on test experience related to fluid system analysis.
Deep experience with eDrivetrain/Transmission/Driveline operation.
Experience with Model Validation with hardware test results.
