About the role
- CFD Modeling Engineer supporting Ford’s Research and Advanced Engineering team with modeling and analysis for electric drive systems. Delivering performance and efficiency improvements in vehicle technologies.
Responsibilities
- Complete 1D system models using AMESim and other similar analysis tools.
- Complete CFD analysis using Starccm, Simerics and other similar tools.
- Identify design inefficiencies and propose design improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers in Research and Product Development, by working with other teams and coordinating with common modeling practices.
- Support design reviews between various organizations within Ford Motor Company.
- Deliver transferable work products to the Product Development Team that is applicable for a production program.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Modeling, CAE analysis.
- 2+ years of experience directly related to CFD modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate analysis, with the experience to select modeling parameters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to turn analysis data into clear decisions and recommendations.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team
- Hands-on test experience related to fluid system analysis.
- Deep experience with eDrivetrain/Transmission/Driveline operation.
- Experience with Model Validation with hardware test results.
