About the role

  • Brake Systems Engineer leading D&R engineering team at Ford for complete brake systems. Overseeing product lifecycle from design to vehicle launch, ensuring compliance with requirements and milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery of the whole brake system including fixed and variable components.
  • Responsibilities include lead D&R engineering team to design, develop, validate, release, and implement brakes hardware parts under their responsibility.
  • Interface with Brake Controls Hardware & Software teams to deliver overall Brakes System performance for the assigned vehicle programs.
  • Lead the team designing brake components that comply with Corporate and Legal Requirements.
  • Ensure compliance to Engineering Requirements, Legal and Homologation Requirements, ES (Engineering Specifications) and DR (Design Rules) as well as the Manufacturing, Assembly and Service requirements.
  • Make sure GPDS milestones are met on time for all brake components and actively support on site launch events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Related Engineering.
  • Full Professional Proficiency in English (Reading, writing, and speaking).
  • 2–4 years of experience in functional engineering, with a strong preference for Chassis or Automotive sectors (OEM or Tier 1 suppliers).
  • Proven track record in New Model launches and deep familiarity with GPDS (Global Product Development System) milestones.
  • Systems Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of Brakes Subsystems design specifications and System Engineering fundamentals.
  • Engineering Disciplines: Demonstrated proficiency in DVP&R, DFMEA, NVH, Process Controls, GD&T, and Reliability.
  • Problem Solving: Working experience with DMAIC, DFSS, 8D, and Robustness Tools.
  • CAD & PLM: Proficiency in Catia V5/V6, Teamcenter, and Vismockup.
  • Analysis: Basic knowledge of CAE structural analysis is a plus.
  • Productivity: Advanced use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Project Management: Ability to manage complex projects by balancing high-level objectives with detailed administrative execution.
  • Communication: Strong oral/written skills for leading management reviews and cross-functional teams.
  • Mindset: Self-motivated and capable of thriving in unstructured or unfamiliar situations.
  • Availability to travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required to support Ford Final Assembly Plants and supplier sites.
  • Legal Documentation: Must possess a valid passport and B1/B2 or TN Visa (or be eligible to obtain them) for international travel, primarily to the United States.
  • Work Scheme: Availability to work in a hybrid model.
