About the role

  • Senior Scrum Master supporting software development teams in Budapest for a fast-paced mobile gaming company. Focus on coaching, process improvement, and ensuring efficient delivery flow.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Facilitation: Facilitate all Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) in an effective and engaging way, ensuring distinct outcomes for every session.
  • Flow & Metrics: Monitor and help improve Agile metrics (e.g., flow, predictability, team health) to stabilize delivery.
  • Partner with Product Owners: Partner closely with Product Owners to support backlog refinement, story slicing, and acceptance criteria definition. Help translate business needs into well-understood backlog items.
  • Coach Self-Organization: Coach teams toward self-organization and accountability. Shift the team from relying on you for coordination to coordinating themselves.
  • Systemic Impediment Removal: Identify systemic impediments (internal and external to the team) and actively work with stakeholders to resolve them, rather than just solving day-to-day administrative blockers.
  • Agile Champion: Encourage the team to follow Scrum values and Agile ways of working.
  • Tooling Ownership: Maintain and continuously improve Agile workflows in Jira/Confluence to support transparency and reporting.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: hands-on experience as a Scrum Master in a software environment.
  • Experience supporting a team through the full software development life cycle.
  • Servant Leadership: Ability to build trust and psychological safety while challenging the team to improve.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to work with data (metrics, feedback) to inform improvement.
  • Curiosity: You are a creative thinker who loves to learn and always wants to find a better way to do things.
  • Technical Literacy: Practical understanding of how software is made (DevOps, testing, release cycles) to better empathy with developers and understand technical debt.
  • Conflict Resolution: Strong facilitation skills with the confidence to moderate difficult discussions and conflicts between team members or stakeholders.
  • Desired but not essential (would be a plus): An interest in or familiarity with mobile games.
  • Basic knowledge of other Agile methods.
  • A Scrum Master certification (like CSM or PSM I).

Benefits

  • Study Support: We’ll support your training and certifications.
  • Health Insurance: Access to the Medicare private medical scheme - after probation.
  • Team Fun: Regular company events and outings.
  • Hybrid Working: A great balance between home and office life.
  • Share Options: Become a part-owner of the company.
