VP of Global Tax responsible for developing and implementing global tax strategies at Five9. Overseeing direct and indirect tax compliance, team leadership, and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive global tax strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and minimizes tax risk.
Oversee all aspects of global direct tax, including income tax compliance, transfer pricing, and tax provisions for our international operations.
Manage all indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, VAT, telecommunications tax, FCC compliance and other transactional taxes across all jurisdictions.
Ensure compliance with all tax-related aspects of FCC regulations, including universal service fund (USF) contributions and other regulatory fees.
Provide tax guidance on new product introductions and service offerings, ensuring that all tax implications are identified and addressed.
Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize the company's tax position.
Manage all tax audits and controversies with tax authorities around the world.
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, accounting, and business operations, to provide tax support and guidance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or JD with a tax emphasis is highly preferred.
10+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm, with a focus on the technology or telecommunications industry.
Proven expertise in both direct and indirect taxation on a global scale.
In-depth knowledge of FCC regulations and their tax implications.
Experience with the tax treatment of telecommunications products and services.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders.
Strategic mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement effective tax planning strategies.
