About the role

  • Ingénieur(e) hydraulique impliqué(e) dans la conception et la réfection d’infrastructures municipales pour les municipalités au Québec. Collaboration étroite avec les équipes pour garantir des services de qualité et respect des normes.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Infrastructure at the FQM, and working closely with team members, you will apply your expertise to support local and regional municipalities by actively participating in various municipal infrastructure construction, rehabilitation, and improvement projects;
  • In collaboration with the team and other specialists, apply your skills to all aspects and at every stage of municipal engineering and infrastructure projects;
  • Contribute to projects of varying complexity, including design, and the preparation and drafting of administrative, governmental, and technical documents required for mandates;
  • Develop and review tender documents and subsequent contracts, including those for procuring professional construction services;
  • Provide peer review and share your recommendations, including reviewing studies, cost estimates, reports, drawings and specifications, bids, deliverables, and other technical documents;
  • Provide advisory services to municipalities at the various stages of mandate management;

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including experience in urban hydraulics and natural environments;
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards related to municipal infrastructure and municipal bylaws;
  • Understand the regulatory framework applicable to stormwater management projects and work in wetland and aquatic environments;
  • Proficiency with hydraulic modeling tools PCSWMM and HEC-RAS;
  • Team player with a collaborative approach;
  • Curious and solution-oriented;
  • Strong client service orientation;
  • Comfortable drafting reports;
  • Completion of construction site safety training (ASP construction);
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and role-specific software;
  • Hold a valid driver's license, as the position requires occasional travel.
