About the role
- Senior Financial and Business Ops Analyst supporting key finance projects at Freeport-McMoRan. Collaborating on financial systems and providing insights for corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities
- This role supports key finance projects by collaborating with central finance, building and training others on FMI financial systems, developing advanced financial models for strategic decision‑making, and providing actionable insights that guide corporate initiatives.
- Support projects, group assignments, and financial modeling with limited supervision, ensuring accuracy and on‑time completion.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of reporting systems and tools (e.g., Power BI, OneStream) and assist team members with system use.
- Extract, organize, and analyze data using advanced reporting and data‑manipulation tools; provide guidance to peers on best practices.
- Assist in creating and communicating development plans for site finance teams by offering insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to finance projects by managing assigned tasks, coordinating timelines and resources, and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Perform routine budgeting, forecasting, and reporting tasks to support cross‑functional operations and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field, and four (4) years of related experience in economic analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, or systems and reporting development, including at least two (2) years in financial modeling or analytical role.
- OR Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, Business or a related field and two (2) years of related experience in economic analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, or systems and reporting development, including at least one (1) year in financial modeling or analytical role.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OneStream.
- Experience with financial modeling.
- Mining or manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience with MS Excel and Power Query
- Basic database understanding
