About the role

  • Manager overseeing accounting operations and reporting for Mitchell & Ness at Fanatics Commerce. Ensuring compliance with financial standards and leading process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting operations for Mitchell & Ness, ensuring accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Oversee preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and expense allocations.
  • Manage recurring schedules and deliverables related to the month-end close process.
  • Identify trends, analyze variances, and recommend strategic actions to improve financial performance.
  • Recommend updates to accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee preparation of intercompany schedules and partner with Fanatics Corporate Accounting on reconciliations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on business processes tied to assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, company policies, and SOX requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally across departments to support business growth and improve financial workflows.
  • Prepare and review ad hoc analyses, reporting requests, and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
  • Prior experience in supervisory or leadership roles strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with NetSuite or Oracle a plus.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, VLookups).
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with leadership and global teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to process improvement.
