About the role

  • Strategic advisor in quality assurance for Exposant 3, a consulting firm focused on digital transformation. Managing quality assurance processes for significant IT projects.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Strategic Quality Assurance Advisor's primary role will be to advise the Director of Development on strategic direction, as well as on the processes, tools and methods to implement for quality assurance in maintaining existing systems and throughout project execution.
  • Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the quality assurance component within the organization's major IT projects.
  • In this capacity, they must define the scope of all levels and types of testing in the context of each delivery.
  • They will manage the full lifecycle of quality assurance and testing.
  • This includes planning and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a project delivery context, as well as estimating the effort required to complete all levels of project testing.
  • The role can be likened to that of a project manager for quality assurance.
  • Implement verification and validation methodologies to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Implement quality indicators, metrics, dashboards, and best practices for software quality control and assurance.
  • Define the strategy, test plan, and scope for all levels and types of testing to ensure each delivery's certification.
  • Estimate the time and effort required for all functional and non-functional testing and related activities.
  • Develop and manage a risk mitigation plan.
  • Coordinate the activities of software quality assurance team resources.
  • Define the template and approach for developing test cases.
  • Define and implement the defect management process.
  • Define and present the deployment plan for releases and patches across all test environments.
  • Prepare and present the final test results report and recommend GO or NO-GO for production deployment.
  • Perform impact analysis for any change requests that arise during project execution.
  • Provide technical support and coach resources in performing testing activities.

Requirements

  • Hold a university undergraduate degree requiring at least 90 credits (bachelor's) in Information Technology, Project Management, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Successfully established at least two Test Centers of Excellence, including at least one (1) within a ministry or government agency.
  • Served as a quality assurance project manager or as the head of quality assurance on at least three (3) projects, each totaling a minimum of 4,000 person-days.
  • The total duration of these experiences must be at least ten (10) years.
  • Have fifteen (15) years of experience in a role with quality assurance responsibilities and coordination of QA resources within the information technology field.
  • Acted as an advisor on at least three (3) information systems development projects, each with a scale of at least 4,000 person-days, including two (2) in cloud environments.
  • Have knowledge of frameworks for developing functional automated tests.
  • Been responsible for quality assurance on at least two (2) Agile projects and two (2) Waterfall projects.
  • Possess at least two (2) years of experience using Jira and/or Azure DevOps (VSTS).
  • Hold at least one (1) of the following certifications: ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification.
