About the role

  • BI Platform Analyst at EXL creating analytics solutions and dashboards for banking using tools like PowerBI and Tableau. Collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring data quality and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with stakeholders to identify and define analytics solutions, dashboards, and actionable BI reports using PowerBI, SAP BO, and Tableau.
  • Collaborate with client teams for enterprise BI design ensuring repeatable, lean, and maintainable designs.
  • Leverage software tools to transform data into useful insights impacting business decisions.
  • Work with product managers, scientists, analysts, and users to understand product vision and create reports to summarize data.
  • Implement and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
  • Build and maintain complex data models, including data warehousing and optimized BI solutions.
  • Design and implement role-based security models to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams using Databricks to source and clean data ensuring high data quality.
  • Collaborate with data governance teams to implement consistent data definitions and ensure data accuracy.
  • Act as the key point of contact for BI-related projects, lead workshops, and provide end-user support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in BI development, including data modelling, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Strong background in data analysis, SQL, and experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with Databricks for data storage, cleansing, and warehousing to support BI integration.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale BI projects in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Proficient in DAX, M language (Power Query), and data modelling principles.
  • Experience with RLS (Row-Level Security) and deploying BI reports across multiple environments.
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools and processes to support iterative development.
  • Understanding of version control and collaborative development practices (e.g., Git, DevOps).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic thinking skills to balance short-term project needs with long-term data governance goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills to lead discovery workshops, training sessions, and presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in BI, data analytics, or Databricks are preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing business needs and technologies.
  • Continuous learning attitude, staying updated on new BI and reporting tool features and industry trends.
