About the role

  • Director of Public Relations for EvolveMKD managing healthcare client accounts and executing strategic PR initiatives. Leading client relationships, media strategies, and team collaboration in a hybrid office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, ensuring clients feel prioritized and valued
  • Lead the execution of strategic PR plans, ensuring alignment with client goals and industry trends, anticipating challenges and delivering strategic solutions
  • Manage day-to-day account operations, including project timelines, budgets, and deliverables across direct reports, peers, clients, vendors and freelancers
  • Ensure all client initiatives are completed in a timely manner, and ultimately deliver business results
  • Run client calls that demand on-the-spot recommendations and proactive thinking (i.e. above and beyond reading off the agenda); demonstrate the ability to anticipate client needs and proactively answer questions that the client hasn’t yet asked
  • Organize and run in-person client meetings with poise, presence, and strategic thinking
  • Develop forward-facing six- or twelve-month plans and execute overarching brand initiatives and promotional campaigns with an emphasis on proposal development, execution timeline, and budget management, with vendor coordination as necessary
  • Develop KPI measurement strategy and deliver on it
  • Assist in the development of new business proposals
  • Execute media strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and target audiences
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with long-lead and short-lead media (broadcast a plus) and leverage these relationships to secure client features across broadcast, print, and digital
  • Monitor media trends and competitor activity to inform client strategies and recommendations
  • Oversee the planning and execution of PR and influencer events such as treatment days, press trips, product launches, desksides, mailers, etc.
  • Be able to “manage up” to the VP, PR and CEO and effectively communicate issues/successes to senior staff with a sense of ownership and urgency; continually identify areas for team improvement
  • Manage and mentor mid-level and junior staff, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and accountability
  • Execute bi-annual reviews for direct report(s) and weekly 1:1’s, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing a plus but not required
  • 8 + years of relevant agency PR experience; experience in consumer healthcare preferred
  • 3 + years of management experience
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage client accounts, including managing junior staff, handling crisis, and sticking to budgets
  • Ability to synthesize a wide variety of information, then set both high level and detailed strategy accordingly
  • Strong time management skills; ability to work quickly under pressure without sacrificing quality and maintaining impeccable attention to detail
  • Big picture thinker with ability to ideate and execute end-to-end client strategy, down to the small details
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (strong writing, copy-editing, and presentation skills)
  • Proven track record of generating results
  • Highly organized, responsive, and punctual
  • Problem solving skills and inner drive to improve efficiency and delivery beyond expectations for both the agency and for clients
  • Hands-on mentality and strong work ethic; ability to thrive and remain highly organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Anticipatory and proactive in nature coupled with consistency in following up
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Zoom, and Slack.
