About the role
- Category Manager managing strategic development of product range in large appliances. Leading team and fostering supplier relationships to ensure competitive offerings.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading staff: You set clear goals, structures and processes and inspire your team through vision, motivation and individual development to achieve top performance together.
- Strategic development of the product category: Planning and implementation of category strategies based on market and assortment analyses.
- Assortment design: Definition of the breadth and depth of the assortment for a future-oriented and target-group-specific positioning.
- Price and terms management: Ensuring competitive pricing and negotiating framework agreements with suppliers.
- Budget and performance control: Sales and cost planning, budget monitoring as well as preparation of reports for top management.
- Relationship management: Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers and strengthening cooperation with member companies.
- Event and process management: Organizing trade shows/events and continuously optimizing processes within the category.
Requirements
- Leadership skills: Experience in leading and developing teams – your leadership style is empathetic, on an equal footing and provides direction and momentum.
- Several years of experience in category management or purchasing, ideally in the large domestic appliances segment.
- Strong analytical skills and a good sense for market trends.
- Negotiation skills and experience in developing strategic supplier relationships.
- Strong communication skills and team orientation – you enjoy working with multiple interfaces.
- Process and IT affinity – you think in terms of efficient workflows and are confident using digital tools.
