About the role

  • Senior Consultant, Fisheries Biologist influencing freshwater ecosystems through field programs and collaboration with multidisciplinary experts. Supporting aquatic assessments and contributing to transformational projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute fish and fish habitat field programs across Canada
  • Support the design, development, and monitoring of fisheries offsetting and compensation programs
  • Analyze and interpret fish habitat and community data
  • Prepare high-quality technical deliverables (baseline studies, monitoring reports, impact assessments)
  • Collaborate with ERM’s international aquatics and fisheries technical communities
  • Help advance ERM’s global strategy through impactful project delivery

Requirements

  • Required B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Fisheries Biology or a related discipline
  • Registered Professional Biologist (or equivalent), or eligible to apply
  • 3+ years of experience including freshwater fieldwork (fish habitat assessments, fish sampling, water quality sampling)
  • Strong data management and QA/QC capabilities
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills (technical report writing)
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Territorial regulations relevant to mining and oil & gas
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
  • Commitment to safety and established Health & Safety procedures
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Pleasure Craft Operator’s License
