About the role
- Senior Consultant, Fisheries Biologist influencing freshwater ecosystems through field programs and collaboration with multidisciplinary experts. Supporting aquatic assessments and contributing to transformational projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute fish and fish habitat field programs across Canada
- Support the design, development, and monitoring of fisheries offsetting and compensation programs
- Analyze and interpret fish habitat and community data
- Prepare high-quality technical deliverables (baseline studies, monitoring reports, impact assessments)
- Collaborate with ERM’s international aquatics and fisheries technical communities
- Help advance ERM’s global strategy through impactful project delivery
Requirements
- Required B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Fisheries Biology or a related discipline
- Registered Professional Biologist (or equivalent), or eligible to apply
- 3+ years of experience including freshwater fieldwork (fish habitat assessments, fish sampling, water quality sampling)
- Strong data management and QA/QC capabilities
- Advanced written and oral communication skills (technical report writing)
- Knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Territorial regulations relevant to mining and oil & gas
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
- Commitment to safety and established Health & Safety procedures
- Valid Driver's License required
- Pleasure Craft Operator’s License
