About the role

  • RF Planning Engineer involved in planning and supporting wireless service delivery for customers. Managing RF activities and ensuring quality in service delivery and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the RF planning tool and all associated activities
  • Responsible for completing RF predictions for new sale opportunities as per agreed OLA
  • Base Station access procedure and arranging access as required for service delivery
  • Master Address database update and associated processes
  • Support and contribute in planning for all RF activities on base stations and on customer sites
  • Support base station assets & infrastructure management and ensuring up to date assigned RF assets on Salesforce
  • Level-1/Level-2 troubleshooting & fault rectification of various wireless and microwave equipment at base station & customer sites as and when required
  • Radio frequency planning of both point to point and point to multipoint network
  • Supporting and completing assigned TSS
  • Ensuring structural integrity and effective utilization of antenna slot capacity on Base Stations
  • Overall RF network, geographical & coverage analysis
  • Issue periodic maps for Base Stations coverage, customer sites and addressable market, and deliver on demand mapping for sales, marketing, technical and leadership teams
  • Ensuring that all Base Station and TAP sites contractual, access and technical information and pictures are up to date
  • Supporting and coordinating base station roll outs among internal teams and 3rd parties, end to end site acquisition and delivery experience for new base stations and expansions on the existing sites
  • Supporting RF Network Expansion planning & delivery for new sectors, chassis, power, etc
  • Delivering and completing periodic reporting and KPIs
  • Covering RF team peers on holidays to ensure seamless RF delivery

Requirements

  • Must have 2-3 years experience in telecoms for wireless/RF/radio fields for planning
  • Microwave or RF/wireless equipment Installation, commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Must have MapInfo expertise with a good level of command having SQL skills & knowledge
  • Must have a moderate level of radio planning experience with any radio planning tool
  • Must have installation, commissioning, delivery experience for RF Microwaves and other radio equipment
  • Energetic, adaptive, administrative and self motivated team player
  • Very Good planning and organizational skills, with good attention to details
  • Good internal and external communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • A solid team player that can quickly build rapport with individuals from all grades and sections of the company
  • Good problem-solver, able to work under pressure
  • Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of Office and able to pick up systems and workflows quickly
  • Process orientated and adept at improvements and or identifying operating efficiencies
  • Desired requirements
  • Experience working on GIS tools like Mapinfo, Esri or QGis, Googleearth, etc
  • Keen to learn more and get involved in radio network functions
  • Experience working on CRM like Salesforce, monitoring systems like solar winds, libre, etc
