Project Engineer working with EDAG and clients on Body Exterior Systems in the automotive sector. Supporting engineering projects, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with suppliers and teams.
Responsibilities
Act as the key interface between EDAG and the customer(s) for interior commodities (including closures, exterior trim, glazing and interfaces) with the ability to professional interact with clients on-site and off-site
Support meetings, e.g. steering committees, project reviews, start-up meetings, etc.
Direct and liaise with local and EDAG Group technical design / engineering resource to achieve project goals.
Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documentation
Maintain customer’s part release system
Collaborate with interior system suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
Controlling data maturity and status including recording and tracking issues.
Tracking of interior targets including function, timing, performance, cost weight and quality.
Coordinate cross-functional reviews for the resolution of technical issues.
Support prototype, pre- and production vehicle builds.
Provide the interface for all functions of programme team.
Demonstrate EDAG's excellent reputation while working directly and seamlessly with customers on their projects.
Requirements
Engineering degree 2:1 or above
+5 years’ experience of automotive programmes preferably in Body Exterior systems
Ability to overcome cultural barriers
Demonstrate strong customer, team & supplier management skills
An ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and to manage time effectively under tight and rigid deadlines
Ability to identify key project attributes targets related to the role and support through the appropriate level of vehicle/system analysis
Relevant experience in Master Sections, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle packaging, Concept creation, assembly processes of various exterior parts.
Ability to perform interior packaging study of the components
Demonstrate FMEA and root cause analysis experience
Knowledge of Six Sigma, ideally Green Belt qualified
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Very good proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
