Senior Credit Analyst evaluating B2B counterpart credit risks in energy commercialization. Collaborating with teams to establish credit limits and governance policies.
Responsibilities
Conduct credit analysis of counterparties (B2B) for energy commercialization transactions, assessing financial, sectoral and governance risk.
Build, maintain and enhance the internal rating methodology (criteria, scorecards, weights, triggers, overrides and audit trail).
Define and review credit limits, commercial terms (tenor, prepayment, collaterals/mitigants) and recommendations for approval by committees.
Monitor exposure and concentration by counterparty/economic group, with a consolidated view (CNPJ root, parent companies, guarantors and related parties).
Implement monitoring routines (watchlist) and risk early warnings: downgrades, material events, financial deterioration, news, protests/legal actions, corporate changes and critical indicators.
Structure and govern credit and counterparty databases: master data, historical ratings, limits, exposures, guarantees and events, ensuring data quality and traceability.
Automate and standardize update routines and reports (Power Query/SQL/Excel), reducing manual effort and increasing data reliability.
Develop management reports and dashboards (Excel/Power BI) with risk KPIs: rating migration, limit utilization, concentration, top exposures, review aging, delinquency/default (when applicable).
Prepare executive materials and concise opinions for decision forums (credit/risk committee/board), supporting recommendations with data and technical rationale.
Work in partnership with Commercial/Trading/Legal/Treasury to support decision-making, suggesting risk mitigants and protective contract clauses when necessary.
Support the definition and review of credit policies, procedures and governance (authority matrix, review cadences, documentation and internal controls).
Strong experience with B2B/counterparty credit, economic-financial analysis and limit setting (preferably in energy, commodities, trading, financial services or capital-intensive industries).
Practical experience in building/applying internal ratings, score models and risk classification criteria (with governance discipline and documentation).
Proficiency in financial statement analysis (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement), capital structure, liquidity, leverage, covenants and quality of cash generation.
Ability to structure data and processes: advanced Excel (pivot tables, functions, modeling), Power Query; SQL for data extraction and processing is a strong differential (Python/R as a plus).
Experience creating reports and dashboards (Power BI preferred), focused on actionable indicators and executive insights.
Ability to consolidate information by economic group (CNPJ root, subsidiaries/associates), work with diverse data sources and ensure master data consistency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields.
Solid experience in B2B counterparty credit, with work in economic-financial analysis, internal rating and limit setting (experience in energy/commercialization, trading, commodities or financial services is a plus).
Strong command of financial statement analysis (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement), including critical assessment of leverage, liquidity, coverage, capital structure, covenants and quality of cash generation.
Advanced Excel (modeling, pivot tables, Power Pivot is a plus).
Power Query (data processing, automations and light ETL).
SQL (queries, joins, data treatment and extraction) — highly desirable.
Power BI (dashboards and indicators) — desirable.
Familiarity with ERP/CRM and data integration (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Salesforce etc.) — desirable.
Certifications and courses in Corporate Finance, Credit Analysis, Credit/Counterparty Risk, Valuation or Financial Modeling.
