About the role

  • Settlements Analyst managing the production of monthly power statements for Generation Services customers. Working in a hybrid model from Solihull, contributing to efficient settlement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate production and distribution of monthly power statements (and invoice backing data) to external Generation Services customers.
  • Prepare and issue electricity monthly statements (or invoices) to sites with new and existing products.
  • Analyse product structures and develop procedures to calculate statement & invoice values.
  • Provide analytical capability to assess risk of settlement processes.
  • Understand and interpret complex electricity contracts and products.
  • Manage the processing and reporting of ROCs, REGOs and GoOs.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the customers for whom they are responsible.
  • Raise and resolve queries arising from data analysis and contract interpretation.
  • Support, liaise and agree SLAs with other parts of the npower for resolution of issues.
  • Download, analyse and validate metered data input into the settlements process.
  • Resolve metered data issues and disputes by liaising with npower data validation teams.
  • Work to reduce the aged debt position managed by Generation Services.
  • Ensure that processes are tested to produce accurate and timely invoices.
  • Document all processes following development or introduction of new products.

Requirements

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels
  • Experience in a commercial/analytical role in the utilities industry
  • Advanced level of numeracy, commercial judgement & analytical skills
  • Rational and analytical approach to data manipulation
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex numeric problems
  • Good modelling skills, preferably in MS Excel/Access and VBA
  • Results orientated, able to meet tight deadlines in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to develop new processes for the calculation of settlement and invoicing of new Generation Services products
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a good team player
  • Flexible and forward thinking
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new concepts and activities
