Responsibilities
Responsibility for operational service management across the entire platform (availability, incidents, monitoring, service quality)
Coordination of incident and problem management in close cooperation with engineering teams and central operations
Definition and maintenance of operational standards for cloud-native and serverless services on AWS
Ensuring operational readiness for releases and changes (go-live checks, rollback readiness, communication)
Definition and tracking of SLAs/SLOs, operational KPIs and service health metrics
Responsibility for supplier and service-level management with relevant vendors
Continuous improvement through identification of operational risks, monitoring recurring issues and initiating appropriate remediation measures
Operational interface between Product, Engineering, Security and Enterprise Governance teams
Requirements
Several years of experience in IT operations, service management or platform operations
Good understanding of ITIL-aligned processes (incident, availability, monitoring, change)
Experience operating cloud-based platforms, ideally on AWS
Ability to work effectively with Agile and DevOps-oriented engineering teams
Strong coordination and decision-making skills
Pragmatic mindset: governance where necessary — flexibility where possible
Confident communication in German and English
Nice to have: experience in regulated or high-availability consumer environments (energy, finance, mobility)
Familiarity with cloud observability and monitoring concepts
Experience collaborating with external service providers and vendors
Insights into large-scale enterprise governance structures
Experience with AI-assisted tools in the operational environment
