About the role

  • Project Manager managing projects from planning to execution for energy-related systems at Duke Energy. Overseeing contractor management, project schedules, and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies customer needs, designs cost-effective solutions, and oversees projects.
  • Duties include engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of energy-related systems.
  • Manage contractor procurement, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with Duke's policies.
  • Administer contracts, process financial documents, oversee project design, and maintain accurate records.
  • Actively engage in or lead design peer reviews and collaborate with key internal teams.
  • Follow Duke Energy's safety protocols, report incidents or near misses, and participate in investigations.
  • Manage project design schedules and coordinate with stakeholders to address changes or challenges.
  • Actively engage in risk identification, communication with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and two (2) years minimum required related experience
  • In lieu of degree and experience listed above, High School/GED and five (5) years minimum required related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years minimum required related experience
  • In lieu of degree and experience listed above, High School/GED and nine (9) years minimum required related experience
  • General Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field
  • Five years of electrical design, electrical construction project management, or related experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills that resulted in projects delivered on-time, on-budget and on-scope
  • Demonstrated experience with design/installation/operation of back-up power systems
  • Demonstrated ability to speak and write in a clear, concise, and organized manner using correct grammar
  • Demonstrated experience in contract preparation, execution, and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in processing purchase orders, invoices, and change orders with proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating various teams for planning, design reliability, and constructability of electrical construction projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate safety requirements that result in project safety compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in project document management.
