Responsibilities
Create high-quality, visually stunning, and hyper-realistic animations for episodic series and feature film projects.
Design character performances from scratch (ex nihilo), working closely with the CG supervisor and VFX supervisor to realize the client's vision.
Combine matchmove/rotoscoping of character motion with realistic takeover shots for actions that cannot be captured live on set.
Provide any secondary hard-surface object animation needs (vehicles, props, and other supporting assets), either as final animated performances or to assist and facilitate VFX simulations.
Proactively communicate the best approaches you can envision to tackle technical and artistic challenges.
Collaborate with colleagues in the animation and CG teams, sharing expertise and constructive feedback to ensure the best possible outcomes for the project.
Meet and achieve animation quotas according to the planned schedule.
Maintain and ensure effective communication with the series production regarding your work scheduling and deadlines.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of animation experience within a VFX studio
Formal training in traditional animation or fine arts
Excellent understanding of body mechanics, acting, and storytelling techniques
Advanced proficiency in Maya
Prior experience with Linux platform
Knowledge of rigging and modeling
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot
Collaborative mindset
Open and receptive to direction with the ability to adapt to change
Self-motivated, proactive, strong communication skills, and excellent team spirit
Assets: scripting knowledge with MEL or Python, experience with Houdini
