NOC Engineer I maintaining IT network infrastructure for Dexcom. Handling incidents escalated from NOC Analysts and participating in process improvements.
Responsibilities
Handle network & systems incidents escalated from NOC Analysts and perform troubleshooting.
Escalation of issues to Major Incident through IOC.
Join as technical resource on major incident bridges (until escalated to the next tier) and coordinate with internal teams and vendors.
Utilize advanced monitoring tools for proactive detection and analyze trends for preventive measures.
Escalate issues to higher tiers of support and collaborate with engineers to determine effective courses of action.
Escalate complex issues to management, other IT resources, third parties, and/or vendors as appropriate.
Participate in improving processes and knowledge base articles.
Other duties or tasks may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
1-3 years in systems/network operations or similar role; prior NOC experience preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF);
Hands-on experience with routers and switches;
Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and monitoring tools.
Knowledge in Hypervisor (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V), Storage (Dell PowerStore, PowerMAX, NetApp) and Windows/Linux OS and Services, Compute (Dell Blade and Rack-Mount Servers) and Backup and Restore (Rubrik).
Strong analytical ability, communication, and ability to work under pressure.
Knowledge of server virtualization fundamentals.
Experience with remote access tools and understanding in security protocol compliance.
Familiarity with ITSM concepts, including Atlassian (Confluence/Jira).
(Nice to have) Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
(Nice to have) Experience on cloud networking (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
(Nice to have) Certifications: CCNA, CCNP or equivalent.
(Nice to have) ITIL Foundation certification / ITIL Change and Problem Management familiarity is a plus.
Good multi-tasking skills working with numerous monitors, communication channels, and multiple engineers/teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
