About the role

  • Payroll Assistant Manager supporting daily payroll functions and compliance at Deloitte's Business Process Solutions. Collaborating with teams to deliver accurate payroll reports and maintain financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in relation to the daily, weekly and monthly payroll functions (e.g. payroll reports and to meet government-related payroll compliance obligations).
  • Provide financial reports to our clients by maintaining and reconciling payroll accounts.
  • Review of payroll reports prepared by team member to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations before sending to clients for approval each month.
  • Provide ad-hoc support in relation to all payroll compliance / advisory matters.
  • Build and manage payroll process to ensure adequate internal controls, drive efficiencies and process improvements as well as timely review of payroll computations.
  • Assist with outsourcing or technology related special projects and provide insightful analysis when needed.
  • Assist clients with the preparation and review of annual employer’s return on employees’ remuneration (Form IR8E).
  • Assist in the provision of information and/or reports as requested by auditors and/or tax agents.
  • Assist Senior Manager / Directors / Partner with the preparation of fee proposals for potential clients and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
  • 4 years or more experience in a similar payroll role
  • Proficient in MS Office and proven experience in the usage of payroll software.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and handle confidential information with maturity and sensitivity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, have good working attitude and good interpersonal communication skills
  • Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, work well under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to coach a team of junior/fresh professionals in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
