About the role

  • Buyer for indirect materials at MENTOR, a global leader in LED lighting solutions. Involved in procurement, supplier management, and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and execution of supplier enquiries at national and international levels, including the creation and evaluation of bid comparisons as a basis for supplier selection
  • Preparation and maintenance of procurement market, quality, cost and value analyses
  • Procurement of indirect materials, services, machinery and vehicles
  • Conducting price and terms negotiations and drafting supply and non-disclosure agreements
  • Contract management for ongoing service agreements
  • Continuous evaluation and development of suppliers within the responsible product group
  • Identification of cost-saving potentials and preparation of make-or-buy analyses
  • Close cooperation and coordination with specialist departments at international sites
  • Monitoring and maintenance of price, item and supplier master data

Requirements

  • Completed commercial training or a degree with a commercial background
  • Technical understanding and ideally several years of professional experience in an industrial environment, preferably in procurement for automotive suppliers or in the electronics sector
  • Confident negotiation skills and assertiveness
  • Proficient user of MS Office applications and ERP systems (ideally proALPHA)
  • Strong communication skills, conceptual thinking, analytical approach and a high level of organizational talent and commitment
  • Person of integrity with team spirit and a proactive mindset and working style
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
