About the role

• IT System Architect for DATAGROUP implementing and maintaining IBM i systems. Working across projects and ensuring system stability and documentation in various German locations.

Responsibilities

• You work on projects and take independent responsibility for the technical implementation.
• You plan, install and commission IBM Power Systems with Virtual I/O Server and IBM i.
• You ensure the stable operation of IBM POWER hardware deployed in data centers and at customer sites.
• You support and advise our customers on all questions related to infrastructure and operating systems.
• As part of ITSM, you independently handle incidents, create changes and support problem management.
• You continuously create, maintain and develop infrastructure and system documentation.
• You implement, test and document releases as well as PTFs.
• You regularly participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• You have in-depth and comprehensive expertise in IBM i.
• You bring several years of practical experience in supporting and operating this platform.
• You have experience in the stable and secure operation of business-critical systems.
• You work independently, in a structured way and with a high degree of personal responsibility.
• You demonstrate a strong customer and service orientation.
• You are solution-oriented and remain focused even in demanding situations.
• You possess strong analytical skills and a good technical understanding.
• You quickly grasp complex interdependencies and analyze them precisely.
• You present technical matters in a clear, audience-appropriate and understandable way.
• You have very good German skills and good English skills, both written and spoken.
