About the role
- Assistant Director of Telecommunications assisting operations management and project oversight for the Open Access Telecom Network. Responsible for capital projects, budgets, and performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to the Director of Telecommunications in the support of the overall operation and management of the Open Access Telecom Network
- Manage assigned capital projects and Authority initiatives
- Assist the Director in preparation of annual budgets, five-year capital plans and operating revenue and expense projections
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators
- Assist with network carrier relations and business development
- Maintain regulatory affairs
- Develop and update standard operating processes and procedures
- Develop and report on financial performance of the division
- Implement process improvements to streamline operating efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required
- Seven years of engineering and project management experience
- Construction project management and permitting process experience, public sector development projects preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other relevant software
- Knowledge of/familiarity with GIS/GPS, Computerized Maintenance Management System software, and Fiber Management Software (3-GIS)
- Familiarity with grant writing and grant administration
- Knowledge of OSHA’s General and Construction Industry Standards (29 CFR 1910 and CFR 1926)
