About the role

  • AI Engineering Intern supporting the testing and validation of electric vehicle systems at Daimler Trucks North America. Collaborating on AI implementation and ML solutions for e-vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of AI in engineering workflows, improving design and validation procedures with focus on reliability, safety, and clear failure modes.
  • Contribute to ML solutions for the new e-vehicle product from feature engineering, data analysis, model selection, training, validation and testing and performance analysis.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June)
  • Strong understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning
  • Ability to train, evaluate, and tune models
  • Knowledge of Matlab, Python (focus on data processing and modeling)
  • Experience with ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc)
  • Knowledge of data cleaning, feature extraction and labeling
  • Knowledge of handling large telemetry/CAN-bus datasets
  • Basic understanding of signal processing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
