About the role

  • Senior Counsel providing legal guidance in manufacturing and supply chain for CSL Behring. Leading negotiations for contracts and ensuring regulatory compliance across global operations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver risk-balanced, business-focused legal advice enabling confident and well‑informed decision-making.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory and enforcement developments and advise leadership on potential impacts to manufacturing and supply.
  • Advance the Legal strategy in alignment with Global Operations priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Global Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other Legal sub‑functions (e.g., R&D, Global IP).
  • Review, draft, and negotiate CMO/CDMO agreements, supply contracts, logistics warehousing, distribution, and vendor-managed inventory agreements.
  • Support structuring and establishing compliant and outsourcing arrangements.
  • Advise on risk allocation, supply continuity, performance obligations, pricing, exclusivity, IP, GxP, and regulatory obligations.
  • Contribute to strategic externalization initiatives, long-term capacity planning, and alliance management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and CSL policies; provide guidance on GxP requirements.
  • Support management of disputes with contract manufacturers or suppliers, including regulatory investigations.
  • Direct external counsel and drive efficiency through technology and AI use where appropriate.
  • Contribute to Legal team initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
  • Foster a culture aligned with CSL's ways of working - being bold, raising the bar and winning together.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement in Legal's value proposition.
  • Advocate for new technologies and modern ways of working.
  • Contribute to building an inclusive, high-performance team environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or international equivalent.
  • Active bar admission (or in-house license where required).
  • 8+ years of legal experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • Strong negotiating and drafting skills with the ability to manage complex international agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic legal guidance to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments and translate issues into actionable guidance.
