Senior Manager for Camp Oasis responsible for supporting camp activities for pediatric IBD patients. Collaborating with stakeholders to provide a supportive community and manage multiple camp logistics.
Responsibilities
Collaborating with staff and key stakeholders to implement mission related activities aligned with the Foundation’s strategic plan.
Support all activities related to Camp Oasis with a goal of providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive community for pediatric IBD patients and their families.
Manage a minimum of two in-person camps, meeting deadlines and achieving related goals, such as:
Volunteers: lead recruitment, interviews, documentation, training, and recognition for all non-medical volunteers nationwide.
Logistics: manage practical needs of camp including contracts, transportation, and supplies for all programming.
Medical: lead recruitment, interviews, documentation, training, and recognition for all medical volunteers nationwide, and manage medication preparation process.
Family liaison: act as primary support for families, manage the medical review process, and ensure all required paperwork is completed.
Lead efforts in one assigned strategic area, developing, and implementing tactics to achieve annual objectives, such as:
Year-round virtual camper engagement: create and execute program to drive camper/family engagement year-round in support, education and advocacy programs.
Support camper and volunteer recruitment efforts to achieve budgeted goals.
Attend all camp sessions assigned and act as the Foundation’s primary liaison to camp, parents, chapters, and medical volunteers.
Participate in annual review of evaluation results, budgets, program planning, and manual and policy updates.
Support year-round activities to engage campers, potential campers, and volunteers.
Other duties as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Public Health, or health-related discipline preferred.
MSW/MPH preferred.
Prior camp experience required.
5+ years of experience in program development, preferably with a health-related organization, not-for-profit experience is a plus.
Ability to develop collaborative relations with health care facilities, community organizations and volunteers.
Demonstrated track record of success using a variety of strategies to improve service delivery, increase presence in the health community, develop and implement membership growth and participation.
Applicable skills in planning and budgeting, project management, volunteer development and supervision.
Self-motivated, results oriented professional with strong organization skills.
An effective written and verbal communicator with a focus on collaboration.
Able to multitask.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and database applications preferred.
Travel (15%) and the ability to work flexible hours (evening and weekends) are required.
Ability to provide personal transportation is a plus (reimbursement provided).
