About the role
- Atlassian Consultant optimizing enterprise Atlassian platforms with strong Jira administration skills. Leading initiatives and mentoring teams to drive efficiency through automation and AI.
Responsibilities
- Administer and configure Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence at an enterprise scale.
- Design and maintain workflows, schemes, permissions, custom fields, dashboards, and reports aligned to business needs.
- Build and manage automation solutions using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner (Groovy), REST APIs, and webhooks.
- Lead Atlassian platform implementations, upgrades, and migrations (Server/Data Center to Cloud, Cloud-to-Cloud).
- Assess migration readiness, perform data cleanup, manage app compatibility, and validate post-migration outcomes.
- Implement and support Atlassian Marketplace apps and third-party integrations.
- Leverage Atlassian AI capabilities (e.g., Atlassian Intelligence/Rovo) to improve productivity, search, and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to admins and consultants; establish governance and best practices.
- Act as a trusted consultant to stakeholders, translating requirements into scalable Atlassian solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and standards in Confluence.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with **Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management).**
- Strong expertise in **Jira administration, automation, and advanced configurations**.
- Proven experience with **Jira/Confluence upgrades and large-scale migrations**.
- Hands-on experience with **automation, scripting (Groovy), REST APIs, and integrations**.
- Exposure to **AI-driven features within Atlassian or automation**-first delivery models.
- Experience with **Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center **environments.
- Working knowledge of **databases **(PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of **Agile, DevOps, and ITSM frameworks**.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
