About the role

  • Wellbeing and Leadership Trainer and Coach for the Changemakers programme to enhance personal and community wellbeing in contexts of conflict and violence.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with and consult with the Changemakers organising team to prepare for the 11-day long training.
  • Design a 2-day training on Peer Welfare Programme, prepare relevant training materials, and deliver the 2-day training on designated days of the Changemakers UFT.
  • Provide support, including acting in simulations, debriefing small groups, and offering psychosocial and/or coaching support to participants, as needed during the training.
  • Act as a bridge when needed for language translation to enhance communication and connection between participants during sessions and outside of the training.
  • Help design the Changemakers mentorship programme.
  • Act as the technical coordinator for NP’s Mentorship in Motion team.
  • Deliver individual and group mentorship sessions on Peer Welfare Programme and Transformative Leadership.
  • Produce mid-term (post UFT) and final narrative (post mentorship) reports inclusive of analysis of the progress of the Peer Welfare Programme and Mentoring in Motion programmes.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree and/or equivalent professional experience in fields related to psychology, group leadership and wellbeing and psychosocial support, or correlated fields.
  • At least ten years professional experience related to provision of mental health and psychosocial support or civilian protection, humanitarian crises, peacebuilding, and/or post-conflict situations.
  • At least five years professional experience related to provision of mentorship or coaching in wellbeing, psychosocial support, civilian protection, and/or leadership development.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
  • Preferred Qualifications: French or Arabic language (written and spoken) abilities are preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Unarmed Civilian Protection projects and integrating psychosocial support into peacebuilding or protection is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with setting up peer-to-peer support programmes for humanitarian workers and communities affected by violence are highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with programmes related to leadership development is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience training and coaching individuals and groups working in conflict affected areas is highly preferred.
