About the role

  • Project Quotations Manager overseeing project quotations and management at World Electric, an electrical products distributor. Collaborating with sales teams and managing project workflows in Florida.

Responsibilities

  • The Project Quotations Manager oversees the entire quotation and project management process, ensuring timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and driving efficiency in the quoting and project management process.
  • This role involves managing a team, streamlining workflows, and collaborating with the sales team to deliver competitive, profitable quotes as well as effective management of projects.
  • Key responsibilities include interpreting specifications, negotiating prices, and monitoring the transition from quotation to project management.
  • Assigns or delegates job duties necessary to run smooth and efficient project quotations and project management team.
  • Analyzes won/lost quotes, track key metrics, and identifies areas for improvement in the quoting process.
  • Represents the company’s business interests at all times, in a positive and professional manner, by conducting business transactions and communications in a fair and ethical manner.
  • Create an atmosphere that represents a passion for customer service.
  • Complies with all Company policies, and supports corporate department procedures, such as Credit, Pricing, Accounting, Operations and HR.
  • Responsible for productivity, quality of work and morale of team.
  • Set the example of a positive attitude with associates and peers.
  • Interviews and hires to fill open or new positions, following company policies and procedures and complying with legal requirements.
  • Develops associates, by using coaching skills and creating individual development plans.
  • Ensure all resources are utilized to secure World Electric the best possible cost on materials.
  • Oversees accurate and competitive quotes for projects based on customer specifications and project requirements.
  • Ensures detailed and accurate quotations for gear/lighting products and solutions.
  • Analyze project blueprints and specifications to identify required materials, as needed.
  • Strives for the company to be awarded the highest percentage of project work available in the market
  • Determine the most cost-effective options to meet project specifications
  • Suggest cross-over and associated items, or alternative and additional items related to an order where possible.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
  • Obtain feedback on bid list.
  • Follow up on quotes to customers
  • Stay informed about inventory, including appropriate product substitutions.
  • Develop and maintain multi-disciplinary, multi-business segment, and multi-vendor product knowledge.
  • Resolve cost discrepancies among customers and suppliers.
  • Correspond with electrical contractor, engineer or architect.
  • Communicate effectively with the sales team on all aspects of the project.
  • Foster and maintain excellent working relationships internally with project manager and outside sales rep, as well as externally with customers, manufacturers’ representatives, and suppliers.
  • Serve as an information source for technical information and consult with sales team on the proper application of products, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing associates preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams
  • Efficient in Parspec, Job Management, and AECInspire is a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and ERP systems.
  • Experience with Eclipse ERP a plus.
  • Demonstrate good time management skills
  • Possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Have a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary business information
