About the role

• Cloud Engineer at Coles shaping cloud infrastructure and enabling seamless application delivery across teams. Involving automation using Kubernetes services and supporting application teams with Azure.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in shaping our cloud infrastructure and enabling seamless application delivery.
• Developing, testing, and productionising automated Infrastructure as Code for Kubernetes Services resources across multiple infrastructure and application teams.
• Reviewing and informing infrastructure and security designs proposed by architecture groups.
• Providing technical expertise, advice, and documentation to support organisational needs.
• Supporting application teams using Azure services.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cloud-native software development and a passion for automation and scalability.
• Development skills in:
• Languages: Java, JEE, .NET, JavaScript
• DevOps tools: Ansible, Azure Resource Manager, Azure DevOps, AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub Enterprise
• Scripting: Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell
• Kubernetes technologies: Azure Kubernetes Service, Google Kubernetes Engine, Amazon EKS, RedHat OpenShift
• Experience with on-premises and cloud deployments.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, Ansible).
• Knowledge of distributed computing, web services, APIs, integration technologies, networking, protocols, and design patterns.
• Strong engineering practices, including: Packaging, provisioning, configuration as code, logging and monitoring, Network policies & firewall logging, Source code management / GitOps, Continuous integration and automation (build, test, deploy).
• Proven experience working in Agile teams.
• Appropriate tertiary qualification and/or relevant industry experience.
• AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator certification (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of Agile and Extreme Programming practices.
• Ability to build productive relationships across engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
