About the role
- Tech Lead responsible for building a robust application management platform at Clasp. Leading engineering team efforts to enhance loan repayment solutions for students and education partners.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain a robust application management and loan repayment platform
- Leverage full-stack engineering skills to contribute alongside team
- Set best practices for code quality, system design, and security while mentoring engineers
- Oversee 2-3 engineers’ day-to-day operations
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and prioritize work
- Spec out stories with the engineering team and product leadership
- Foster a strong engineering culture through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
- Participate in future on-call rotations and ensure systems are highly available
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent bootcamp or upskilling program experience
- 4+ years working in a SaaS startup regularly building and owning the complete E2E technology stack for Web Application (Frontend + Backend + Cloud + CI/CD)
- Hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar)
- Ability to clearly articulate technical trade-offs, align stakeholders, and make informed decisions under ambiguity
- Deep experience with Javascript & TypeScript (React, NextJS, Recoil (other state management libraries)), Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc.), HTML, CSS
- Experience working closely with Product teams to define technical requirements and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence in financial services or similarly regulated environments.
- DevOps: Experience with CI/CD and modern cloud and container tooling
