About the role

  • Property and Asset Manager for Community Housing Network maintaining safe and high-quality affordable housing communities. Conduct inspections and coordinate repairs for properties across southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • The Property and Asset Manager is a field‑focused role responsible for ensuring Community Housing Network’s affordable housing communities are safe, well‑maintained, and operating at high physical standards.
  • Conduct regular property inspections.
  • Identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and preventative maintenance needs.
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance plans.
  • Oversee unit turns and readiness standards.
  • Document findings and track resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD and safety inspection standards.
  • Coordinate repairs and capital projects.
  • Prepare scopes of work and obtain bids.
  • Oversee contractors and ensure quality completion.
  • Approve completed work and invoices.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule.
  • Support HUD, HOME and LIHTC compliance.
  • Maintain property condition records.
  • Assist with lease enforcement related to property condition.
  • Contribute to maintenance and budgeting.
  • Maintain occupancy certifications and documentation.
  • Conduct annual resident income recertifications by gathering required verification documents.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in property inspections, facilities oversight or maintenance coordination.
  • Experience managing repair projects and contractors.
  • Ability to identify building deficiencies and safety issues.
  • Property management software experience (Yardi or Onesite).
  • Valid Real Estate License or ability/willingness to obtain.
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist for HUD or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal automobile coverage limits minimum: Bodily Injury $100,000 each person, $300,000 each occurrence Property Damage $100,000 each occurrence.
