About the role
- Lead Mission Systems Engineer utilizing advanced systems engineering skills to develop aerospace mission systems. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on innovative projects in military and commercial applications.

- You will contribute to the development of Honeywell Aerospace's state-of-the-art mission systems for military, space, and commercial applications, including satellite operations, space exploration, and advanced communication systems.
- You will take a lead role as part of a multidisciplinary team in designing, testing, and validating mission systems from concept to operational deployment.
- Examples of projects include mission architecture designs, system integration, and end-to-end performance assessments across various space system components.
- Lead bidding and proposal evaluation, writing comprehensive technical proposals.
- Estimate labor and timelines for mission systems engineering projects.
- Manage requirements definition, validation, and compliance evaluations for mission systems.
- Conduct system architecture modeling and simulation to assess performance against mission objectives.
- Develop and refine system design documentation and performance specifications.
- Collaborate with and interact with external vendors and partners for integration and testing efforts.
- Conduct customer site visits for system demonstrations and requirements gathering.
- Oversee technical proposals and manage proposal schedules and budgets effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in solving complex engineering problems.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements management, verification and validation.
- Good written communication skills.
- Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
- Knowledge of mission systems engineering processes, including requirements management, space agency (NASA, CSA, ESA, etc.) standards and mission phases.
- Experience in evaluating commercial and defense space mission proposals, including RFPs and RFIs.
- Familiarity with systems integration and testing methodologies for space systems.
- Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, SysML, Model-Based Systems Engineering tools).
- Understanding of satellite communication systems, space vehicle design, and operational constraints.
- Experience with complete engineering lifecycle from concept development through to operational deployment.
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, and are willing to do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
- Ability to lead a Project, including application of budgetary controls and reporting. Program Management experience is a plus.
