About the role

  • Manager of Digital Services managing client service professionals with technical expertise in Manitoba health. Leading projects and optimizing business and clinical systems for effective health service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of multiple concurrent projects assigned for completion within the work unit from initiation to completion including scope, risk, change, issue, schedule, cost, quality and communication, involving the area director and vendors as required.
  • Communicate requirements for projects and manage the ongoing introduction of changes, upgrades or the introduction of new applications/technology platforms to the operating environment, including acting as the primary area contact on reviews to transition assigned applications to regular operational use.
  • Plan, recommend procurement or development, deliver assigned projects, and ensure ongoing maintenance (including lifecycle refresh, patching and/or application enhancements and upgrades) of assigned technologies within the enterprise architecture and required standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors and exchange appropriate information to ensure the delivery of relevant outsourced services and ongoing vendor support.
  • Influence or lead change management, and benefits realization measurement in coordination with business leads for key projects.
  • Promote the ongoing adoption, optimization, deployment and maintenance of technologies and related equipment, updating these in alignment with the established enterprise architecture and standards, and approved operating plans.

Requirements

  • 8 years of progressive management experience in a large, 24/7/365, geographically dispersed digital services organization specializing in providing clinical, business, infrastructure and/or enterprise architecture solutions and supports, preferably in the health-care sector, including: 5 years of experience managing client services focused on maintaining a wide range of complex computer systems and information infrastructure in a shared services environment.
  • 3 years of experience implementing annual operating plans focused on client service and leading multiple project teams.
  • 3 years of experience influencing mid and senior management, key stakeholders, and collaborating with vendors on outsourced services.
  • Post-secondary degree in technology, computer science, engineering, or digital health/clinical informatics from an accredited educational institution.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities.

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Travel throughout the province requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
  • A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
