About the role
- Pharmacy Manager overseeing pharmacy operations at Wellstar's oncology and ambulatory infusion sites. Ensuring compliance, managing staff, and maintaining high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all pharmaceutical and financial activities occurring in the pharmacy
- Responsible for the day-to-day pharmacy operations
- Train and supervise pharmacy personnel
- Provide distributive and clinical services during staffing shortages
- Assist in writing and implementing department policies and procedures
- Maintain the pharmacy in readiness for inspections
- Manage annual operating budget and pharmacy inventory
- Participate in and supervise audits and drug purchasing program
- Communicate with various departments and ensure high quality pharmacy services
- Oversee a large team of clinical staff and ensure compliance with regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited School/College of Pharmacy
- Oriented and knowledgeable in the specialized functions of a hospital pharmacy
- Worked a minimum of three (3) years in a hospital pharmacy
- Worked in a supervisory capacity in a hospital pharmacy for a minimum of one (1) year or in a clinical or community setting for a period of two (2) years
- General knowledge of hospital financial systems (responsibility reports, budgetary process, billing programs, etc)
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and pharmacy purchasing
- Knowledge of the various pharmacy technologies available
- Knowledge of computerized pharmacy systems; preferably hospital pharmacy based computer systems
- Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulatory guidelines governing pharmaceutical practice and the use of controlled substances.
