About the role
- Senior Elder Abuse Attorney managing plaintiff elder abuse cases for a leading personal injury firm in Century City, California. Provide mentorship and lead litigation efforts while ensuring maximum settlements for clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high-value caseload of plaintiff elder abuse and neglect cases from inception through trial.
- Conduct all phases of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions.
- Lead trial preparation and serve as lead or co-counsel in jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to junior attorneys and support staff.
- Negotiate maximum settlements on behalf of vulnerable clients and their families.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience , preferably with elder abuse, medical negligence, or personal injury
- Strong litigation background with the confidence to independently handle matters from inception through trial
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented work environment
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout California for hearings, depositions, trials, and arbitrations.
