About the role

  • Lateral Conflicts Attorney at a leading global law firm conducting conflict reviews and advising on ethical matters. Collaborating with lateral candidates and Firm personnel to facilitate hiring and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of conflict questionnaires and conflict reports to identify and resolve potential business and ethical conflicts
  • Draft and review conflicts memoranda, waiver letters, and notice letters
  • Advise on conflicts of interest analysis and related Firm policies
  • Communicate required next steps to lawyers and staff before a lateral attorney may join the Firm
  • Advise on issues under the rules of professional responsibility
  • Work with lateral candidates and Firm personnel to facilitate the onboarding of new hires

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
  • minimum three years of legal work experience after law school preferred
  • active law license in the jurisdiction in which the candidate is located
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • working knowledge of the rules of professional conduct
  • previous conflicts experience including reviewing conflict reports, researching corporate affiliations, drafting waivers, and advising Firm lawyers on conflict or relationship issues
