Responsibilities

  • play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering the research strategy
  • support the development of a thriving research environment
  • act as the Professional Services lead for research
  • lead a team supporting academic research across the full lifecycle
  • manage and provide agile and visible support for all research proposals
  • ensure School-readiness for REF exercises
  • lead on research governance and ethics
  • develop, implement, and promote all research internally and externally
  • provision of training and induction for all research colleagues

Requirements

  • sound understanding and knowledge of the national and international research environment
  • sound appreciation of the research lifecycle
  • significant experience of working in a research-active environment
  • experience of research administration
  • experience of evaluating research performance
  • understanding of how to build a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion
  • effective collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills
  • ability to think strategically and manage conflicting priorities
  • degree or equivalent level qualification and/or experience in a similar research related role
