About the role

  • Consultant developing communications strategies for Cardinal Health's Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solutions business. Engaging internal and external stakeholders through strategic communications and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create and adapt content for specific audiences, including field employees.
  • Collaborate with leaders and business partners to develop and implement communication plans that reflect the company’s mission, values, brand and priorities while ensuring accuracy and mitigating risk.
  • Seek and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the businesses/functions.
  • Collaborate with communications partners across Cardinal Health Communications & Enterprise Marketing to follow consistent communications processes, protocols and reporting standards.
  • Develop process and protocols for existing and new initiatives and programs, primarily the promotion of events and other engagement activities.
  • Coordinate, create and publish content for the segment’s email newsletter.
  • Create and coordinate internal announcements and change management communications, including FAQs, talking points, and customer-facing notifications.
  • Support communication for urgent situations, following standard operating procedures for events including weather and/or natural disasters.
  • Create and manage content for internal channels (Intranet, Viva Engage, digital signage, huddle guides, etc.).
  • Support internal cultural and engagement initiatives.
  • Develop content for events, including AV logistical planning (town halls, let’s chat sessions, etc.).
  • Counsel and support leaders and businesses/functions with external speaking opportunities, third-party endorsements and media requests, as needed.
  • Develop social content using both internal and external sources in collaboration with corporate partners.
  • Coordinate business unit/function social initiatives with Enterprise social media team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 3 or more years of experience in communications, public relations or related field, preferred.
  • Healthcare communications experience, preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical topics into clear, compelling stories.
  • Strong curiosity, eagerness to learn, strategy skills and ability to persuade.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Self-directed, action-oriented, forward-thinking and innovative with high ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical skills, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • Team player with the ability to work cross functionally with peers and other business leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results individually through initiative and work collaboratively with others.
  • Hands-on experience with email platforms (e.g., Populo, Salesforce, Mailchimp) and intranet platforms is a plus.
