Responsibilities
Support the monthly financial reporting cycle including preparation of working papers, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Manage sales tax compliance across Canada and the United States.
Assist in preparing financial reporting packages and supporting files for quarterly financial review calls.
Aid in the annual budgeting process and support ongoing forecasting activities.
Ensure compliance with ASPE and coordinate with external auditors.
Act as the primary point of contact for all employee-shareholders regarding investment inquiries.
Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, performance summaries, and investment updates to employee-shareholders.
Organize and lead shareholder meetings, presentations, and Q&A sessions in both English and French.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
CPA designation (CPA, CA / CPA, CGA / CPA, CMA) is strongly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in shareholder relations, senior accounting or a similar combined role.
Demonstrated experience managing shareholder communications within a private organization.
Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance in a Canadian or US business context.
Full professional proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken) is preferred.
Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP / ASPE and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
