About the role

  • Data Enablement + Governance Manager leading data governance strategy at Waystar, ensuring data accuracy and compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a scalable data governance strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements
  • Define and enforce enterprise-wide data quality standards and ensure consistent implementation across business units
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of data governance artifacts including policies, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and metadata repositories
  • Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and technical teams to develop and manage data classification, access controls, and lifecycle policies
  • Drive the implementation and adoption of data governance platforms and tools to support governance workflows and automation
  • Facilitate data quality issue resolution through root cause analysis, remediation planning, and ongoing monitoring
  • Support operational teams by providing guidance on data standards and assisting in the resolution of data quality gaps
  • Track, report, and communicate data governance metrics, risks, and progress to executive stakeholders
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices, continuously evolving the governance program to meet emerging needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data governance, information management, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, data quality, or enterprise information management
  • Demonstrated experience with data governance frameworks, data stewardship models, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Proficient with governance tools and technologies, such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or equivalent platforms
  • Experience implementing and maintaining data quality measurement frameworks and KPIs
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
